ODENDAALSRUS- A case of murder was registered by local Odendaalsrus SAPS, after a 15 year- old boy was fatally stabbed following an argument over a boy’s game on Friday 25 June, 2021.
According to Odendaalsrus police spokesperson, Matansi Makhele, the 15-year-old named, Lebohang Malgas and his friend aged 12-year-old, boy were playing a gambling game on the street at Block 7 Kutlwanong, Odendaalsrus, when an intense incident occurred.
“The two engaged in a heated argument and the 12 year old went home. On his return he allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Lebohang in the chest. The victim fell and was declared dead at the scene,” said Brigadier Makhele.
The deceased is believed to be a Grade 9 learner, whilst the 12 year-old suspect is in Grade 6.
The minor suspect was arrested and charged with murder, but was released under the custody of his guardian.
The suspect is expected to make a court appearance accompanied by his guardian on Monday, 28 June 2021, at Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court.
