In today’s world it is very rare to have youth that is passionate about establishing their self-owned jewellery business from the ground.
Lindile Maeeane is a 22-year-old young man who started his hand-made jewellery business known as 1040 Jewels that specialises in selling earrings in Bloemfontein.
Lindile learnt the art to master making earrings from scratch all by himself, by trying out things.
Like Robert Kennedy once said, “Only those who dare to fail greatly can achieve greatly,”.
Lindile is no different from this encouraging phrase, since he failed on his first business that was about clothing, later he found his passion and this helped him to strive in jewellery business.
In a one-one-one conversation with Kasi Voice News, Lindile unpacked that studying Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting helped him to make informed finance decisions in his business.
The Bloemfontein-born entrepreneur mentioned that, his customers are his main inspiration.
“I am growing my business from the ground, starting it from the streets and watching my customers grow me bring a lot of joy,” he said.
The University of the Free State academia highlighted that, his main setback in business is a cash flow. He said sometimes it is difficult to juggle education and sales, since money it is extremely important.
Despite the setbacks he face, Lindile is proud to have sold over 100 earrings in less than a year, of which is something that is hard to accomplish.
In May this year, the goal-oriented entrepreneur became one of the members of Precious Women Organization, an organization that is aimed at connecting small business owners and big opportunity offers.
Lindile gave aspiring entrepreneurs encouraging words.
“learn to lean on yourself, leverage on what you have today ,if u must pawn those clothes and devices in order to get capital then that is what needs to happen because entrepreneurship is a calling,” Lindile concluded.
