A shooting broke out as suspects hijacked a security vehicle and took off with two firearms with them In Virginia on Tuesday night, 05 April.
According to Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, the Virginia police received a report at around 23:30 about a vehicle hijacking and business robbery at Harmony Central Plant mine.
A Toyota Quantum belonging to Protea Security was on patrol outside the mine premises and had a number of security personnel in it.
“As the vehicle entered the premises, seven armed robbers appeared and a shooting broke out,” added Thakeng.
Fortunately, none of the security personnel sustained injuries from the shooting. However, suspects managed to take off with two firearms belonging to the security personnel – a rifle and a 9mm pistol.
Captain Thakeng further stated that the suspects drove of with various unknown vehicles.
