In the early hours of the day, a 35-year-old female constable was shot on duty at the Masilo Satellite Police Station when three unknown African men wearing balaclavas entered the premises.
According to the Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, the unknown men opened fire at the on-duty officer who managed to return fire and flee.
“The officer sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach and was taken to a hospital for medical attention,” added Thakeng.
A case of attempted murder was registered for further investigation. Residents are also requested to assist the by providing information regarding the trio suspects.
“Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these suspects should contact their nearest police station. Aternatively, members of the public can send information via MYSAPS app,” Thakeng concluded.
