The acting Lejweleputswa district commissioner, brigadier Mzondi Mojafi, appointed the new Hennenman police station commander lieutenant colonel Sephiri John Matankole.
Matankole, from the SAPS College, started his career at Ventersburg police station. His first appointment as a commissioned officer was in 2004 and was appointed as CSC commander at the Hennenman police station.
Subsequently, the officer was transferred to Kroonstad as Vispol support commander. He further transferred to Virginia as Vispol operational commander 2016. In 2017 however, the dedicated officer was appointed as Vispol commander at Hennenman.
In 2018, Matankole received promotion to the rank of lieutenant colonel as shift commander at Thabong police station.
According to the Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, the officer has, in the past, been exposed to the commander position on several occasions.
“His appointment as the Hennenman station commander comes with a lot of experience and exposure he gained over the years as a commissioned officer,” added Thakeng.
Matankole’s vision is to create a safe and secure environment for the Hennenman community and strengthen the police-community relationship. This vision will help in regaining the community’s trust and also provide effective and efficient service delivery to this community.
