The Vrede police apprehended a 28-year old woman from Thembalihle near Vrede for the alleged murder of her boyfriend (34) after the body was discovered in their shack.
In conformity with the media statement issued by the police, it is alleged that yesterday, July 1 in the early hours of morning, one of the residents tipped the police about the discovered body of a male person in the shack next to theirs.
‘’Furthermore, it is alleged that the couple had an argument on Thursday, June 30 at their apartment in Waghuis informal settlement at about 23h00pm.’’
Upon arrival at crime scene, the police found the suspect along with a hidden blood stained pair of scissors inside shallow hole.
The police seized clothes of the suspect and the deceased for further assessments.
The victim was found already dead lying outside the shack near the door.
He sustained stab wound on the right side under the shoulder and head.
The deceased has not yet been pointed out by his family and his name will be withheld until he has been formally identified.
The alleged suspect is expected to appear before the Vrede Magistrate court on Monday, July 4 facing charges of murder.
