Crime Intelligence received information about a drug dealer in Theunissen and opertionalised the information. Welkom K9 Unit arrested a suspect.
Authorities received information about a foreigner dealing in drugs at a tavern in Theunissen on 09 November 2021.
They engaged Welkom K9 Unit and the tavern’s manager. Upon their arrival at the tavern, members requested to search the premises and received permission.
During the search, they found 11 grams of CAT; five grams of Crystal Meth with the street value of R5 000,96; and counterfeit cigarettes. They seized all these illegal items.
A 35-year-old foreigner, without proper documentation to be in the country, was arrested for possession of drugs and counterfeit cigarettes.
He will appear before Theunissen Magistrate Court on Monday, 13 December 2021.
Lejweleputswa District Commissioner, Major General Lerato Molale, welcomed the arrest and seizure of drugs, and praised residents for trusting the Police with information about the
“Drug dealers cannot hide themselves anywhere in this Festive Season,” added Major General Molale.
