Foreign national nabbed for dagga dealing in Odendaalsrus

The Odendaalsrus police apprehended a foreign national for dealing in dagga during a routine patrol, yesterday.

On the day of the arrest, the police officers were on vehicle patrol and spotted suspicious looking people.

The officers then decided to approach suspicious men, revealed Lejweleputswa police spokesperson captain Stephen Thakeng.

“Amongst the approached group, one of the arrested individual has a history of arrests for dealing in drugs,” said Thakeng.

After realising who the individual was, the police requested to search the suspect’s apartment.

During the search, the police found and seized dagga weighing 34,5kg in the apartment.

The 35-year-old was arrested on scene for being in possession of dagga.

The suspect is set to appear before the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, 20 May.
