A solid partnership policing comprising of Community Policing Forum and the Department of Correctional Services from Virginia Community Correction hit the streets of Meloding to closely monitor five parolees who have been allowed to serve a part of their sentence in the community.
“A routine follow-up is being conducted on each parolee to ensure they are adhering to the parole conditions,” detailed Lejweleputswa police spokesperson captain Stephen Thakeng.
“Parolees were also given an opportunity to share how they had the chance to mend their ways and rebuild trust in their communities,“ Thakeng elaborates.
Two out of five parolees monitored were not found at their place of residence, which results in violating parole conditions.
“Disciplinary action will be given in accordance with the severity of the infraction by the Department of Correctional Service in Virginia Community Correction”, said Thakeng.
