A neglected house attracts creepy crawlies

It is normal to identify a neglected house by overgrown foliage, weeds in the yard, different kinds of mosses, cracked windows, mold, spiders and all sorts of creepy crawlies.

An unkempt house has a devoid of human life, some neglected houses are creepy, almost like they are haunted.

They are not only creepy, they also smell bad because they have now housed all sorts of creepy things. They are now a resident to different species.

To human beings such houses are unattractive with eerie sounds that terrifies human beings but to creepy crawlies it is their safe haven, a place they can freely roam around without being killed by human beings.

I guess its normal for them to call their family and friends to join them in their newly found freedom.

Just like a neglected house, our spiritual life should not be neglected otherwise it will attract unwanted things, when a Christian neglects her relationship with God, she gradually drifts from God and starts confirming to the standards of this world.

When you first gave your life to God, the devil was not happy and he has been trying to win you over since then, it is his will to pluck you out of the hand of God.

The devil prowls around incessantly looking for a body to call home. If you veer off from the ways of God, he will take that opportunity to take over the place of God.

You will start tolerating things you used to abhor. What I realised about Christians who go off the rails is the fact that they turn to behave worse than the unbelievers.

They do not see anything wrong with having a grudge anymore or being jealous or even doing unspeakable things. They also fail to exhibit love and you cannot even differentiate between them and someone who has never met the Lord.

Their house (Soul) is now devoid of God, they are now living in a state apostacy and that gives the
devil an entrance into their lives.

Luke 11:24-26 says

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’

And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more
wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

As mentioned before the devil has been on a mission to win you back since you surrendered your life to God. So, when he checks in like he normally does and finds you empty without God, he will go and call his friends and family (demons) to reside in your life.

For as long as there is still breath in you, there is an opportunity to do an introspection, and get rid of whatever does not have to be in your life.

We are human beings; we are not perfect but we should do whatever it takes to remain in God. It does not matter how hard you have fallen or how deep you are in the things of this world, you can still get up, dust yourself, claim your identify back and continue your walk with God.
