Two suspected arrested on Tuesday, 12 October 2021, following cash-in-transit heist at a mall in Hiededal on Monday, 11 October 2021.
The arrest came as a result of Hawks’ National Priority Violent Crimes team (NPVC) together with Crime Intelligence (CI) and Tactical Response Team (TRT) all based in Bloemfontein joined forces on an operation to catch perpetrators.
Three suspects approached, in a very aggressive manner, Fidelity Cash Solutions security officials while collecting cash at a supermarket.
One suspect hit one security official with an unknown object on the head.
Suspects then took the bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash including firearms of both security officials.
They fled the scene with a sedan.
Police conducted an investigation which led to arrests of two suspects.
Duo suspects will soon appear in court.
