The Thabong police’s Detective Services unit is investigating a case of culpable homicide after a six-year-old girl, Rethabile Masimene was hit and killed by a car.
According to Lejweleputswa spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, Thabong police officers were informed about this sad incident on late night of last week Saturday, June 18.
“On arrival at the scene, members found a car and a child hit by the same vehicle,” said Thakeng.
“According to information at hand, the six-year-old girl child was allegedly crossing the road at Buick Tshabalala street when she was hit by a Volkswagen Golf, red in colour with FS number plates, driven by a female.
“The driver did not sustain any injuries and even the vehicle had no damages,” Thakeng added.
It is alleged that when paramedics arrived at the scene, they found that the girl showed no signs of life and was declared dead on the scene.
The vehicle was seized for a forensic analysis to be done.
