Police in Deneysville are on hunt of four suspects involved in an armed robbery.
Fezile Dabi district police spokesperson, sergeant Josephine Rani said the incident happened in the evening of Monday, August 8.
“It is alleged by the 36-year-old complainant that they were busy with guard duties on site where their plant is located.
“The two guards saw movement of an object, upon further scrutiny they heard a sound of a cocking firearm and a voice instructing them lie down,” said Rani.
The two securities therefore lay down and they were searched. Their hands were then tied with shoe laces.
Rani further said that, the bakkie that came to the scene was filled with electric cable wires.
The suspect are alleged to be Zulu speaking.
The items that were stolen from sewerage plant include, three Huawei cellphones, two truck batteries and electrical cables worth R523 000.
Police have urged anyone who might have information to contact 082 466 7935 or to anonymously send a tip-off on MySAPSApp.
Bronville man remanded in prison following business robbery
A 31-year-old man was nabbed by the Welkom police’s Public Order Policing Task team for business burglary and theft.
Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng said the Bronville police received a tip-off from community members on Monday, August 8, about the person suspected to be in possession of stolen items.
“The information was operationalized by Welkom Public Order Policing Task Team and the house was identified,” said Thakeng.
Upon their arrival, police found a suspect. The following items were found, LG monitor, Dell monitor, two acer CPU monitor, Sony studio mixer worth R6 500.
