The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has announced the nominees for the 2024 Metro FM Awards awards, that will honour some of the biggest names in music.
Grammy award winner Tyla leads with six nominations for the song ‘Water’. She is nominated in the
categories of: Song of the year, Best female artist, Best music video, Best viral challenge and Artist of the
year.
Kabza de Small and Tyler ICU have put Amapiano at the forefront with five nominations each.
Kabza de Small has received nominations for Best produced album, Best collaboration, Song of the year, Best Amapiano for the song ‘Imithandazo’ featuring Mthunzi. And the Best male artist award.
Tyler ICU’s five nominations are for the song ‘Mnike’ featuring Tumelo.
The nominations are for: Best collaboration, Best viral challenge, Best Amapiano, Song of the year. He is also nominated for the Best male artist award.
Inkabi Zezwe also bagged four nominations. Two for ‘Ukhamba’, Best produced Album and Best African
pop. They were also nominated for Best collaboration for the song ‘Umbayi bayi’.
The METRO FM Music Awards will be held on 27 April 2024 at Mbombela stadium in Mpumalanga Province and
will be broadcast live on SABC 1.
