2023 Crown gospel music awards nominees announced!

The eagerly anticipated 16^th Crown Gospel Music Awards was officially announced in a glittering all white party in Sandton. An auspicious event indeed, with worship, glamour, and fireworks. More than 300 gospel artists, producers and media gathered to witness the unique, all-white party event.

As one of the many exciting programmes by the World Gospel Powerhouse, these awards celebrate, promote, and reward excellence in the gospel music genre in South Africa and across the globe.

The events manager at Mirror PR & Events, Nonjabulo Mdluli, reiterated that it was one of their best inaugural events as Gospel Dreams. Gauteng Gospel talent search grand finale was combined with the Crown awards 2023 nominations in one event.

Crowns executive producer, Zanele Mbokazi also highlighted that Tebs David, 3C Live, Jumbo, Dumi Mkokstad, Sbu Noah, Omega, Butho Vuthela and Canaan Nyati are amongst the artists nominated in big categories.

“I am excited with the new faces that made it to the nominees list. It’s a demonstration that the industry is growing. The competition in the big two categories, best gospel artist and best gospel song is fierce, and we urge fans to vote,” added Mbokazi.

Omega Kenou, Andile Majola, Canaan Nyathi, Jumbo Nyangiwe, Tebs David are among the artists in the best gospel artist category. Tebs David with Makabongwe, Butho Vuthela with Ethembeni Bambelela, Ntokozo Ngongoma with Izindlela Zakhe, Nathi Sithole with Baba Mlondolozi and Jumbo Nyangiwe with Makabongwe uJesu were nominated in the best gospel song category.

Voting lines for your favourite artist officially opened on Monday, October 16^th.

The MEC of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Morakane Mosupyoe, was among the all-white party attendees.

“As Gauteng, we are honoured to host the Crowns. I am blown away by the level of excellence displayed here and the talent that has been on stage. As Gauteng, we would really love to keep the Crowns for another 7 years”.

Several other celebrities including Winnie Ntshaba, Sophie Ndaba and Mcdonald Ndou were spotted.

Tickets for the Crown Gospel Music Awards can be found at TicketPro and Spar supermarkets. The event will take place in a beautiful dome marquee at the FNB Stadium on November 26th.
