Two farmers appeared before the Magistrate Court for malicious destrction of property and for a shocking incident that led to five dogs shot and killed.
Handing down the judgement, they were granted bail of R5000 and R2000 respectively.
The case was postponed till the 30 November 2021 for further investigation. The angry residents were still gathering outside the Magistrate Court singing freedom songs.
Detective Constable Tsediso Sakoana of Ventersburg Detective Services was assigned to investigate the case.
He took a stand in the court to oppose bail against the arrested suspects. But ultimately, the Magistrate granted them bail.
In attendance, there were ANC, EFF members as well as Mmamahabane residents gathering outside the Magistrate Court buildings singing freedom songs and were also against the move for suspects to be granted bail.
The first accused was granted R5000, while the second accused was granted R2000 bail.
The case was postponed till the 30 November 2021 for further investigation.
Members of Public Order Policing were monitoring the situation. The District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Maj Gen Lerato Molale and Captain Odendaal, Station Commander of Ventersburg and Captain James Mahlatsi, Detective Commander of Hennenman Detective Services were also in attendance at the Magistrate Court.
