Louis von Zeuner, the chairperson and non-executive director for Tongaat Hulett, has handed over his resignation, this has been confirmed by the sugarcane company.
According to the statement that was released by the company today, von Zeuner will continue serving for the board until 30 June, next month.
“Mr von Zeuner has consequently resigned as chair but will remain on the board to assist with the smooth handover until June, 30,” said the company.
David Noko has been appointed as the interim chair. He served as the lead independent non-executive for the company since July 2020.
CEO Gavin Hudson applauded von Zeuner for exceptional work during his time of reign.
“On behalf of the board and executive team of Tongaat Hulett, we wish to sincerely thank Mr von Zeuner for his exceptional leadership, guidance and support during the difficult time that Tongaat Hulett faced when he took over the role as chairman,” said Hudson.
