ANC in the Free State has suspended the party’s provinvial chief whip, Vusi Tshabalala on Thursday, 07 October 2021.
Tshabalala was suspended as a party’s leader in the legislature and also as a member.
Furthermore, Tshabalala was accused, by ANC’s Interim Provincial Committee (IPC), of supporting independent candidates and campaigning for rival political parties.
In 2018, Tshabalala was deposed as Maluti-A-Phofung executive mayor.
He then has accused ANC members of working with Democratic Alliance (DA) to remove him from his position in the legislature.
The suspended provincial chief whips is a loyal supporter of suspended ANC secretary-general, Ace Magashule.
His suspension follows last week’s provincial cabinet reshuffle during which, former Free State ANC chairperson, Sam Mashinini, was fired as MEC of Police, Roads and Transport.
Tshabalala will face disciplinary action by the ANC’s provincial disciplinary committee.
