Faith is a big part of our Christian journey. It is like a step ladder that one use to climb up for different reasons, some use it to change a light bulb, others use it to climb onto of a roof, fire fighters make use of step ladders to evacuate people who are trapped on high floors inside a burning building.
Just like a step ladder our faith in God the Creator of the universe is enabling us to move from one point to the next.
We are holding on to God through faith, irrespective of what the world throws at us.
It is because of our faith in God that we are still moving, trying to make ends meet and hoping that things will change for the better.
Most step ladders are designed for single user only, just like the single user step ladder, our faith in God is a personal thing.
It is the knowledge of God’s benevolence about you. sadly, our mortal beings turn to lose faith when things do not go our way, when problems arise, when stagnation never comes to a halt, when problems keep piling up and a breakthrough seems far-fetched. When we feel trapped in a vicious cycle, our faith in God turn to weaken.
Genesis 18:9-15 says:
9 “Where is your wife Sarah?” they asked him. “There, in the tent,” he said.
10 Then one of them said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.”
Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.11 Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing.
12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?”
13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’
14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
15 Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”
Sarah was eavesdropping and she heard what she deemed impossible, the fact that she, as old as she was will be a mother the following year, she laughed in disbelief and that did not please God.
From the above scripture we can clearly see how God feels when our faith in him is weak or non-existent. He is even posing a question is anything too hard for the Lord?
When Sarah was confronted about her lack of faith in God, she lied and claimed she did not laugh, making God out to be a liar and those two things do not define God, there is absolutely nothing impossible with him and he is certainly not a liar.
God is pleased with a person who exercises their faith, lack of faith in him undermines his power or ability. Faith moves God and the devil knows that too well.
Therefore, he will try to put doubt, fear, and lack of faith in us, just to hold us in unwitting bondage and live according to his limitations.
I bet the devil was not happy when the woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years used her faith by touching the fringe of Jesus’ clothes and her hemorrhages stopped immediately.
In the same way the devil will not be pleased when you use your faith in God because he knows the power therein.
Problems will arise, storms will come your way, hurdles will be on your path, but you need not to lose faith in God.
I know its normal for your faith to weaken in the midst of difficult moments of this world, but it is during that time that you need to rejuvenate your faith in God.
Revisit the Word of God, remind him of his promises, hold on to his word. Do not allow your temporary pain to weaken your faith in him.
Start on a clean slate and rejuvenate your faith, get rid of doubts and fear and do not allow the devil to pluck out the Word of God in your heart, deny him the power to choke out faith in you.
It is never too late to have the God kind of faith, the one that brings results. The woman who had an issue of hemorrhages used her faith and it pleased God, because of her faith her problem became something of the past. Your problem can also be referred to in the past, if only you can use your faith.
We are left with 13 days before the end of 2022, if you can use your faith in God, the year might end on a high note for you.
Never forget that faith pleases God and that there is nothing too difficult for him. What you deem as impossible is your own limitations and they are hindering your progress in life.
Get rid of limitations and start using your faith in God. I wish you a blessed new journey of Faith. Shalom!
