Police are still on the lookout for the family of an unknown man who was found on the side of the road near Rooikop farm, 20 kilometers away from Warden.
Police spokesperson sergeant Mmako Mophiring, said the lifeless body of an African male, estimated to be between the ages of 25 to 30 years was found by residents who were burning grass on the side of the road near Rooikop farm on Thursday, June 30.
Mophiring said the cause of death is unknown and an Inquest is currently under investigation.
The deceased was found wearing a blue track top, black denim jeans and white sneakers.
Mophiring further said that, it is believed that the deceased died because of hit-and-run, and he had no visible injuries.
“The man had no possession of any documentation for him to be easily identified and he was taken to Harrismith state mortuary,” said Mophiring.
