Cornelia Police seek assistance with recovery of 27 suspected stolen calves that were reported by one of the farmers in Cornelia.
Complainant alleges that he counted his heard of cattle on his farm on Friday, 10 September 221, at about 15:00. According to him, at the time of counting, there were 70 unmarked 12-18 months old curves Bosnmara Bulls. He further alleged the calves were left to gaze in the camp.
Complainant went to report on Monday, 13 September 2021, at around 10:00, one of his neighbours contacted him about his calf (unmarked) that was on the neighbour’s farm. On the same day, the complainant counted his herd of cattle and realised that 27 calves were missing and only 43 were left.
He searched for them at the grazing campus on the farm but none were found.
The missing calves are red in colour and are unmarked. They are estimated to be around R245 000. He asserted that he would be able to identify them.
Vrede Stock Theft s notified and a docket has been transferred to the unit after registration.
Suspects are unknown and the docket is still under investigation as no calves were recovered.
