Five murder suspects of Lucky boy Mereekae(30) were denied bail by the Vryburg Magistrate Court, and they will stand trial in two months time.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson, Henry Mamothame said the, deceased’s body was found with several stab wounds earlier this month in Vryburg.
“In-depth investigations by the police led them to the Huhudi location, where the six suspects were apprehended and weapons used to commit the offence confiscated,” said Henry Mamothame.
The suspects Keaobaka Motswamere(26), Tlotlo Serapelwane(22), Mosimanegape Segotlong(26), Obakeng Matiting(23) and Thabiso Seane will remain in custody until the next court appearance since they had no substantial reason for the court to grant them bail and showed no proof that they attended school.
The co-accused, Ntlafatso Velele(21) ,was the only suspect who was granted a bail of R5000 on conditions that, he must attend school on regular basis and report to the Vryburg police station on Mondays and Fridays.
The suspect is also expected to present himself on the court date.
