20-year-old male set for bail application after allegedly raping two-year-old boy

A 19-year-old mother left her two-year old son at her girlfriend’s house when she visited her aunt, and the boy was allegedly raped by her girlfriend’s brother who is currently in custody awaiting bail trial.

On 05 February, young boy’s mother residing at Kgotsong, Bothaville decided to visit her aunt in Nyakallong, Allanridge. She then left her two-year-old son with her girlfriend’s brother from 10th-12th February.

The mother and her girlfriend visited the tavern and headed back to the girlfriend’s home to fetch the young boy.

On that evening, the mother was bathing her son when he told her his buttocks were painful. According to the police statement, the young boy then told his mother that the girlfriend’s brother raped him.

“He pointed to the girlfriend’s brother as the suspect,” read the police statement.

The worried mother then reported the incident at Allanridge police station and police registered a rape case.

“The police then arrested 20-year-old and he has already appeared before Odendaalsrus Magistrate Court. However, the court postponed for bail application,” the statement read further.

The case is being investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Mandie Jacobs of Lejweleputswa District FCS.
