A 36-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 34-year-old wife in Maokeng, Kroonstad.
Saps spokesperson Malebo Khosana said the incident occurred on Saturday 26, November around 21:20 at Koekoe Village Maokeng.
“The victim alleges that she was at home with her husband (36) sleeping,” addressed Khosana.
“The husband then wanted to have sexual intercourse with her, however she refused and told the husband that she
was not in the mood,” he added.
It is alleged that the husband became aggressive and started to assault his wife with fists on her face.
The complainant alleged that the husband went beyond and took out a knife and stabbed her on her upper right eye.
Furthermore, the suspect forced him sexually assaulted her without her consent.
The alleged suspect appeared before Kroonstad Magistrates Court yesterday, 30 November facing charges of rape.
Captain Khosana said, the suspect will remain in custody for his next appearance in court on the 8th of December.
