South African hip-hop artist, Rikhado Makhado better known as Riky Rick has passed away at the age of 34.
Music lovers and his followers are in great shock following devastating news that the award-winning hip-hop artist, has departed.
Although the family is yet to confirm his death in a statement, news surrounding the sudden death of the Cotton Fest Stuart, it is alleged that he committed suicide.
This comes after Twitter streets went abuzz on Wednesday, 23 February that Ungazincishi hitmaker reportedly took his life.
In the early hours of Wednesday morning at about 03:20 am , Riky took to his Twitter account and said: “I’ll return a stronger man, this land is still my home”
A few weeks ago, the star artist posted a video of himself excited with his wife ‘dressed to kill’. Social media community however, bullied artist saying he was pretending to be happy and forcing his wife to smile.
As a fashion lover, Makhado started an event, Cotton Festival which occurs annually. He was a brand ambassador of many elite brands and continued working his way up the ladder of global recognition.
Riky Rick started his career at a young age working with Bongani Fassie and producing his own sensational sounds loved by many.
The prominent musician rose to fame in 2014 after releasing a hit single, Nafukwa in 2014. Amantombazane was another hit the industry which led to the debut album in the same year, Family Values.
Boss Zonke was another hit by the Uncle Rick, as some called him. The song dominated the South African music charts for more than 12 weeks on radio stations. It also sat on the third spot on the SA Hip Hop Top 10 List.
The heavyweight artist owned a record label, Cotton Club Studios which was aimed at growing South African artists.
The Sidlukotini hitmaker opened a famously known Legends Barbershop, based in Midrand.
He was considered as one of the most influential artists not only in the country, Africa as whole.
He was also rated as one of the most business-minded artists in South Africa.
