METRO FM has announced an exciting line-up effective from April 1. The new lineup will see some of the listeners’ favorites returning, leaving as well as talented new additions to the station.
“We have amplified the current line-up and are supporting the growth of weekend shows with exciting changes.
“Our 2024 offering will ensure that the station remains relatable and inspirational to listeners who are constantly seeking inspiration for growth and progression.
METRO FM is committed to consistently providing quality content to our listeners as well as adding value to our clients,” said Kina Nhlengethwa, METRO FM Business Manager.
Returning to South Africa’s largest radio station will be Rorisang Thandekiso, with a weekday morning show from 05:00 to 06: 00 called ‘Command your day’. As well as Luthando “Loot Love” Shosha who will be joining Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe to co-host the afternoon drive show “The Touch Down” on weekdays between 15:00 to 18:00.
Fresh voices added to the station are Zola Myeza, who will join Somizi Mhlongo on the 06:00 to 09:00 slot for the weekend “The Weekend Breakfast Sounds Good”. As well as Thato Immaculate who will be an addition to the station’s new show that focuses on music and urban lifestyle. She will co-host it with Quinton “The Naked DJ” Masina, on Saturdays from 18:00 to 21:00.
To keep enhancing and growing their weekend slots dynamic radio personality, Roxanne Roberson will join Ryan the DJ on “Urban Beat” on Fridays 22:00 to 00:00 and Saturdays from 21:00 to 00:00.
Paul Mtirara joins The Sunday Love movement to present “The Chill Factor” between 12:00 to 15:00. “Sunday Soul Therapy” with Msizi Shembe will be moved to the 21:00 to 00:00 slot and will focus on urban jazz, classic, soul, and R&B music.
Leaving the station is Siya Mhlongo who used to host “Command your day”, he made a mark as one of few presenters who have presented shows on two stations at the same time.
Nothemba Madumo will also leave and her show has been replaced on the 21:00 slot with a new title and presenter.
The station has thanked Nothemba Madumo, Oscar ‘Oskido’ Mdlongwa, Siya Mhlongo and Sphe ‘SPHEctacula’ Ngwenya for their contribution over the years to METRO FM and serving its audiences with passion and diligence.
