The community of Lejweleputswa where the late broadcaster Siziwe Singama grew up, has remembered her as a vibrant, community builder, multi-talented and pioneer of active change.
Her friends and industry peers say they will remember Singama for her no-holds-barred approach, when it comes to tackling social affairs and her bold presence in the now-defunct The Rock FM 90.9.
Better known as ‘Sizzy‘ or ‘TheBossLady‘, the fanatic radio-host passed away on Wednesday at the age of 34, after a lengthy battle with a rare disease called Motor neurone.
The BossLady whose career spanned over 12 years in the broadcasting industry, made her breakthrough with The Rock FM since its inception in 2009.
Singama has been described as a unique broadcaster and a master of her craft, with her magnetic voice, that made waves to reach to the listeners from different indigenous languages across the Lejweleputswa District.
For those close to Singama said, she always had the ability to entertain and command attention, while empowering women and young people was at the forefront.
The station’s marketing manager Tebele Leteane said he is still gutted and grief-stricken by the untimely death of TheBossLady.
“She was a dedicated community builder, she used to empower person although was a fun person, she had her unique style and we gave her the name ‘BossLady’ because she was ruling, Sizzy made her a name for herself, what a great loss I can say,” said Leteane.
Leteane says during his tenure as the programme manager, he squeezed Sizzy to the morning shift slot, a 09:00-12:00 talkshow, Masutsa – a show aimed at empowering women and to tackle among other underlying issues faced by women and under-aged girls.
“Her show made a great significant contribution to the station, it attracted widespread audience, while sales perforated like hive of bees,” Leteane elucidated.

He further added that, with Sizzy’s remarkable work and being goal-driven, this lifted the BossLady to climb up the ranks, as she was inaugurated as the Station Manager before its closure.
Her former counterparts and colleagues at the station, the likes of Motshidisi Mokati and Beauty Mohale said their hearts are torn apart over the death of the BossLady.
They added that, they are in emotionally distraught situation, as they battle to comprehend the loss of the radio guru.
