The deceased and his family were attacked on Tuesday, August 23 during the night, at about 9pm by three heavily armed suspects.

Thakeng says the deceased and his wife were overpowered, and were tied up with shoe laces and forced in the back of the bakkie belonging to Matjhabeng municipality.
“They drove away with them to old petrol station in Saaiplaas Virginia, where the deceased was fatally shot three times, and was found still tied up,” Thakeng says.
He said the deceased’s lifeless body was found at a dumping site near old petrol station with gunshot wounds on his cheek, head and chest.
Thakeng said the wife of the victim was found unharmed.
“The bakkie was found abandoned in Masimong Shaft number 4 mine,” Thakeng elaborates.
Thakeng says during the house invasion, suspects fled away with cellphones, and another phone was given to the victim’s child.
