The Welkom police have launched a manhunt after a lifeless body of a woman was found with multiple shots on her face and underneath her body, at her residence in Bronville on Saturday, 11 December 2021.
According to police spokesperson captain Stephen Thakeng, the Bronville SAPS received a tip-off about a woman who was fatally shot in her home.
Thakeng said the deceased’s five-year-old daughter, tried to wake her mother up, and while frightened with her not responding, she ran to call for help in the neighbourhood.
Upon arrival, the police found the body lying on the bed with multiple shot wounds.
The deceased was identified as Gloria Mungoi, aged 26-year-old.
Following this devastating incident, the police launched a manhunt and the murder case was opened with immediate effect for further investigation.
