The De Aar woman who was reported as being kidnapped, has been found by the Fezile Dabi District police unit’s trio task team today, 14 June, after she was hijacked.
Her stolen car was traced and found in Vaal Plaza near Parys, with the victim inside the car.
According to Fezile Dabi District spokesperson, captain Malebo Khosana, following a successful search operation, the missing woman was found in her car, a grey Audi Q2, and she was safely rescued.
“A 39-year-old driver was arrested and the vehicle was confiscated. The lady who was kidnapped was found in the car and safely rescued,” said Khosana.
“However she was taken to hospital for medical attention. De Aar SAPS were contacted to proceed with kidnapping and theft of a motor vehicle investigation as reported,” he added.
Fezile Dabi District commissioner, general Moses Makubo applauded the officials with great work on rescuing a woman and recovering a car.
“Great work colleagues, a life was spared because of your hard work, keep up the good work,” lauded Makubo.
