Faces of tragedy: Here are 7 victims of Lismor farm near Kestell

Families of the seven victims who their lifeless bodies were discovered at the Limsor farm near Kestell are still reeling from the loss of their loved ones.

They are calling for justice to prevail and have further pleaded with the justice authorities not to grant the suspects bail.

The police in the Free State have on Sunday, July 17, identified names of the victims, six women and a young man who were brutally murdered by the alleged suspects.

Thus far far the police have apprehended two suspects linked to the mass murder, however, the motive behind the killings is still unknown.

Bodies of six women aged between 22- 53, and a 17-year-old boy were found with gunshot wounds in the farm owners house.

Free State police spokesperson brigadier Motansi Makhele told Kasi Voice News that the police received identification of the deceased on Saturday evening.

Here are their names:

  1. Nokufa Portia Monareng – aged 30 years – employee at the farm
  2. Lerato Julia Moloi – aged 33 years – employee at the farm
  3. Mothoduwa Paulina Moloi – aged 36 years – employee at the farm
  4. Nomasonto Christina Zulu – aged 56 years – employee at the farm
  5. Nomasontsha Topsy Maduna – aged 43 years – employee at the farm
  6. Binto Smith – aged 55 years – wife of the farmer
  7. Rudi Smith – aged 17 years – son of the farmer and the late Binto Smith

Makhele further told Kasi Voice News that the two arrested suspects behind the senseless killings will appear before the Kestell Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of seven counts of murder, armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms.
