Eskom cable worth R3,5 million found during an operation

Thabong Sewerage Plant Laboratory was robbed of copper cable and poloce recovered it during an operation on Tuesday, 16 November 2021.

Visible policing (VISPOL) for Operation Festive Season at Thabong Sewerage Plant premises discovered copper cable. Captain Gcinikhaya Mandla led the operation with Crime Intelligence and Copper Cable Reaction Team.

Eskom personnel confirmed that to the police that the cables belonged to their company.

Preliminary investigation reveals the stolen and investigation continues.

Lejweleputswa District Commissioner, Major General Lerato Molale, attended the scene. He emphasized that they will continue to leave no room for cable copper thieves this Festive Season.
