Born in Kgotsong, Bothaville – a township in the jurisdiction of Lejweleputswa district, Beauty Mohai has always set her sights on the big stage.
Mohai aged 33, who although spent her upbringing in Welkom, is an entrepreneur of note, a go-getter and an ardent philanthropist.
Renowned for her radio presenting days at the now-defunct, The Rock FM, a community radio station which was based in Welkom, she made a remarkable name for herself which modeled the affectional known stage name, Honey B.
When asked how the name came about, she reiterated that it was inspired by a story she once read about the
bees.
She regards life as sweet as honey and B, stands for her name Beauty, according to her she’s living up to her name as she loves beautiful things that life has to offer.
She further added that her stage name has some spiritual connotation to it. “And considering the fact that bees are more associated with African spirituality, so I believe that my stage name carries lot of things hence ‘ke Ngwana wa Badimo.”
“I therefore give all the credit to my forefathers for everything I achieve,” she said.
Honey B describes herself as a go-getter who seizes an opportunity when it presents itself.
When the radio opportunity came her way, she grabbed it with both hands even though it had never crossed her mind before.
She did exceptionally good in radio for close to a decade.
Her focus is now on thriving as a businesswoman. She’s a proud founder of BLane Media & Advertising, a media company that provides tailor made solutions to the people of Lejweleputswa.

She has the township of Welkom’s best interest at heart, as her aim is to better the lives of the youth by taking them under her wings and providing them with job opportunities.
“I am creating opportunities for youngsters to be involved in various projects that I work on under my company, and through this, I create employment for the youth,” says Honey B.
Furthermore, she stressed the importance of being a serious player in the entrepreneurship field to help grow not only Welkom’s economy but the whole country at large.
The Honey B Soft Tissue is her other company which was established when Covid-19 first emerged in South Africa.
“The distribution of the products will be communicated in due time,” she said.
During the unprecedented time of Covid-19, her brand managed to donate food parcels to the needy and sanitary towels to pupils from less disadvantaged families, she also gave upcoming entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their talents.
Honey B’s passions, experience and education will help her achieve her dreams of making a great impact in the lives of many people especially people in her hometown.
She holds a qualification in Human Resources Management attained from Goldfields TVET College in Welkom.
Her philanthropic priorities made it possible for her to graduate with Gordon Institute of Business Science, a business school and an affiliate of the University of Pretoria, through Walmart Foundation.
Honey B is part of 2021-2022 Sunlight Lionesses of Africa Entrepreneurship Accelator Program, a business and mentorship programme that empowers women entrepreneurs in South Africa with business tools, business coaching and mentorship experiences and help women advance their businesses.
Honey B told the people’s Ultimate voice of community, that corporate world poses quite a few challenges for women, in order to deal with them, she creates social events and intimate events such as Meet & Greets.
They have managed to host several events in Welkom such as Sophisticated & Devine Soul Sessions.
She draws inspiration from the likes of Basetsana Khumalo, Connie Ferguson, Carol Bouwer and Gary Rantshedi.
She reiterated that she enjoys reading a lot, according to her all great leaders are readers.
In the spirit of Women’s Month, Honey B urges all women to speak up and not dwell in the past if they want to see a positive change in their lives.
“My Message to all the women out there is to speak out, say it loud, you have what it takes. Remember nothing comes easy in life and the process of becoming takes time.
“In order to survive we have to start on a clean slate. Let us get rid of old memories, habits and other past traditions,” she said.
