Body of teenage boy,14, found with multiple stab wounds

A lifeless body of a 14-year-old teenage boy with multiple stab wounds, was discovered by residents at one of the informal settlements in Gauteng in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is alleged that the teenager was attacked and stabbed countless times during a violent altercation with the alleged thieves in the Main Reef Road, Angelo Squatter Camp in Gauteng at the crack of dawn on Sunday.

According to insiders, it is alleged that a young lad who reside in Boksburg, together with his friends they headed to a party in a squatter camp on Saturday where violent incident ensued and he was brutally butchered.

“It is not clear why he was murdered, but it is possible that he was robbed. It seems that the entire crew were heading back to Boksburg around 4:00 am when they were attacked. While others managed to escape, he was not so lucky. The thieves made sure to finish him off,” says one of the witnesses who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The body of the deceased was taken to a government morgue.

The Gauteng police said a case of murder was being investigated by the Boksburg police following the incident.

In February, Police Minister Bheki Cele has expressed concern about the spike in the murder rate in the country, with 7,710 people murdered between October and December last year.

Cele said this was an increase of 2.1% compared to the same period last year.

He said authorities were concerned about the rise in the murder rate in the country. There were 7,710 people killed in the third quarter of last year, which is 155 more people compared to the same period the previous year.
