On, Thursday, 29 July 2021, Members of Public Order Policing were busy with Crime Prevention in Welkom CBD, when they discovered a lost girl suspected to be mentally retarded in the vicinity of Game stores.
According to Welkom SAPS Spokesperson Stephen Thakeng, the police took the girl to a local Police Station in bid to find more about her whereabouts.
“When asked about her name, she said her name is Loster Mabuya, but does not know where she stays,” says Captain Thakeng.
The girl believed to be in her teenage, she is currently at Thabong Police Station and her relatives are urged to go to the police as soon as possible.
The police further urged anyone who knows the relatives of the lass to contact SAPS Detective Warrant Officer Tshediso Qhamakoane on the following numbers: 082 375 0645, alternatively they can call Crime Stop hotline: 08600 10111.
