Parys cops sought suspects after security officer left in ‘cold-blood’

The Parys SAPS are appealing to the community for assistance in apprehending the perpetrators who shot and killed a security guard while on duty.

In an effort to curb cable theft, the deceased and two of his colleagues patrolled behind the Parys Hospital at approximately 22:00 on Wednesday, November 30, when the sad ordeal transpired.

According to Fezile Dabi district police spokesperson sergeant Josephine Rani, the three security guards were a trolling in different directions when the other two heard gunshots.

“After hearing the sounds of gunshots, two of them went to the location where they heard the gun sounds and found the deceased lying on the ground with a gunshot wound on his chest.

He was rushed to the hospital and sadly succumbed to death later, the motive behind the shooting is still unclear, and no suspects have been arrested yet,” Rani says.
