Last night, a farmer in Hertzgoville busted four unknown African in his farm as they attempted to make off with his sheep, said the police in Lejweleputswa region.
According to police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, the incident occured during midnight on Tuesday, July 5.
Thakeng said, two officers Olebogeng Moremi and Betta Thipe, from the Visible Policing, immediately attended to the complaint following a tip-off.
“Upon arrival at the identified farm, the police spotted four described men, three of which fled at the police sighting,” added Thakeng.
The police however, managed to capture and arrest one suspect aged 33 with 10 alleged stolen sheep.
All sheep were forced out of their sheepfold, hidden behind the stores and tied up.
The ten sheep, valued at R25 000, were handed back to the farmer.
The 33-year-old suspect will appear before the Hertzgoville Magistrate Court tomorrow, facing stock theft and possession of suspected stolen livestock.
