On Thursday, 29 July 2021, a vehicle check point was conducted next to the Clock Tower in State way Welkom. With law enforcement officers conducting proper checkings for crime related activities and to ensure road users complies with Road Traffic Act.
A vehicle check point to enforce law and order was held jointly by Welkom SAPS members and Matjhabeng Traffic department.
Two vehicles were impounded, 78 vehicles and 112 people were searched.
A joint venture was applauded by the Acting District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Brigadier Mzondi Mojafi.
