The ultimate bond time for co-coach Fadlu Davids and Orlando Pirates has hit a snag, after the club announced that it has resolved to cut ties with their coach.
The Soweto giants made the announcement on their website, on Friday afternoon, stating that Davids will be leaving the club at the end of the month.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that it has parted ways with Coach Fadlu David,” a statement read.
“Davids – 41 who joined the organisation in 2019 as an Assistant Coach, will leave the Club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this month,” the club confirmed.
The Buccaneers commended Davids for his achievements at the club, and leading the Black and White outfits to the CAF Confederation Finals.
“Ever professional and always disciplined in his approach, Mr Davids leaves the Club having performed his duties in an exemplary manner,” Pirates said in a statement read.
Davids joined the Sea Robbers in 2019, as an assistant coach to the then technical team of head coach Milutin Sredojević and assistant Rhulani Mokwena.
Following the sack of Sredojević and the departure of Mokoena in 2021, Pirates appointed both and his counterpart, Mandla Ncikazi were appointed as co-coaches the same year.
Davids leaves the club with no silverware under his wing.
