ANC in Free State concerned over illegal invasion at SABC’s premises

The African National Congress in Free State has expressed with disappointment and disgruntle feeling following the illegal invasion of the SABC’s regional offices in Bloemfontein.

This comes after, a 27-year-old man was arrested by the Park Road police for intruding in the public broadcaster’s radio park key point. The suspect was busted for business burglary; trespassing; malicious damage to property and intimidation.

ANC further stated that this invasion raised serious security concerns about the increase in illegal invasions of Key Points throughout the country.

“The ANC Free State has noted with concern the intrusion by a ‘stran ger’ at the premises of SABC in Bloemfontein. This raises serious security concerns about the continuing illegal invasion of Key Points in our country. We are relieved that security was able to act promptly to arrest the perpetrator.


“We call upon the community to be on the lookout for anyone intending to vandalize public and private properties and report that to the police in order to bring order and stability,” said the party.

Previously, Hawks spokesperson, Captain Singo indicated that the police and emergency services were called to the scene and the suspect is currently under police guard in hospital.

“A separate case of attempted murder will be investigated by Parkweg detectives,” revealed captain Singo.

The alleged suspect is set to appear in court soon.
