Lejweleputswa district police arrested two suspects, a male and female aged 24 and 27-years-old respectively, for the alleged stolen laptop in Thabong, Welkom.
SAPS spokesperson in the region captain Stephen Thakeng said that, after an intensive probe conducted by the police, the duo were found in Virginia with a with a stolen laptop.
“On 13 May, warrant Officer Eeden Pretorious and constable Sello Nkhobo of Virginia SAPS received information about a stolen laptop and followed it up instantly, while members were on their vehicle patrol in Oribi Street in Virginia, they stopped four men and a laptop were connected with a laptop found at a saloon in Virginia,” clarified Thakeng.
“When the suspect was interrogated, it was reveled that the laptop was found a lady called slender and apparently she allegedly stole the laptop from her grandmother’s residence,” he said.
Thakeng further said, “The original owner of the laptop produced documents to be in possession of the laptop and it was also found that a case of theft of laptop was registered in Thabong three weeks ago.”
The two suspects appeared today before the Virginia Magistrate Court.
