One of the alleged armed robbers of Allanridge post office was arrested by the North West police and appeared before the Stilfontein Magistrate Court, where his case was postponed to 25 January.
This comes after, the Allanridge post office was robbed cash by four armed robbers with automatic rifles in December last year.
In this occurrence, a member of SAPS sustained a bullet wound and was admitted to hospital.
Two vehicles were abandoned and an unknown getaway vehicle was used.
A case of armed robbery and attempted murder was registered, which was investigated by Free State Provincial Organized Crime Investigation.
“A 35-year-old suspect residing at Kanana Orkney was arrested by Klerksdorp Organized Crime unit on the 11 January 2022, he was appearing in Stilfontein Magistrate Court,” said Lejweleputswa media liaison officer captain Stephen Thakeng.
“The information was shared between Organized Crimes Units of Klerksdorp and the one of Free State,” he said.
The suspect was connected with the armed robbery of Allanridge Post Office and he appeared on the 12 January 2022 in Odendaalsrus Magistrate Court.
The case was postponed till the 25 January 2022 for further investigation and he remains in custody,” captain Thakeng further revealed.
