The Free State Anti-Ganng Unit (AGU) arrested a foreign national in possession of suspected stolen items in St Helena, Welkom, today.
According to the Lejweleputswa police spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, this police team received information in the early hours of the day, at around 03:45.
“The team operationalised intel which led them to a house in Hamlet street, St Helena,” added Thakeng.
Upon arrival, the police found 44-year-old foreign national in possession of suspected stolen items. The suspect could not provide documents or receipts to be in possession of those items.
As a result, the police arrested him for possession of suspected stolen items.
The items included an HP Slimline and an Intel Core 17 Raidmax.
The suspect will appear before the Welkom Magistrate Court tomorrow,” concludes Thakeng.
