Virginia SAPS women celebrates Women’s day through ‘Operation Vehicle Check Points’

Women in blue celebrates Women’s day by stamping authority of the state, as they spearheaded ‘Operation Vehicle Check Points’ where vehicles, people were searched in Virginia.

On Monday, 9 August 2021, motorists disobeying to Road Traffic Act regulations were issued with fines.

From early in the morning at 09:00 until 13:30, a Vehicle Check Point was held in R730 Harmony road. The Operational Commander was Captain Mantwa Makhaza. This operation was organized to celebrate Women’s Day.

At least 106 vehicles and 168 persons were searched. Sixteen people were arrested for different crimes like driving without License, failure to comply with road sign, failure to display a disc, failure to wear a mask, driving without a number plate, loading more passengers in a vehicle – over load, driving a vehicle with expired license disk.

Revealing to Kasi Voice News, potent women in blue who dedicated their day to fulfil this operation includes of Sergeants, Makhasi Selekoe, Confidence Tselane, Constables Nikiwe Mokau, Nnyalleng Letuma, Vivian Mohoboko, Desree Thulo and Gladys Ramolahloane.

District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Major General Molale applauded this initiative.
