Masefako Malatji is a multi-talented all round artist, she is also a devoted wife and a loving mother.
She was born and bred in a small village called Rickeyline in Tzaneen Limpopo.
Masefako has always aspired to be a solo gospel artist.
She, like most South Africans, grew up in a household where gospel music was the order of the day every Sunday morning.
This is where she grew inspired by the sounds of The Oral Roberts, Gaiter Gospel, Kholeka, DR Rebecca Malope, Benjamin Dube and Joyous Celebration.
She started singing at church from a young age and by the age of 12 she became well known in and around her village as the go to praise and worship leader.
In pursuit of fulfilling her childhood aspirations, Masefako recently resigned from a post she held for 13 years at the Greater Tzaneen Municipality in order to move to the city of gold to pursue her dream of being a gospel singer.
From singing at her church youth choir at the age of 14, to being a backing vocalist and now finally releasing her debut project ‘The Genesis’, Masefako is ready to step out into the spotlight and prove that God’s delays are not denials.
Last month in October, she released her debut album titled “The Genesis”. As the name suggests, The Genesis signals the beginning of her solo career and other great things to come.
“I have always known that I am anointed to touch and give the message of hope, and this album has now awarded me an opportunity to walk in my calling,” said Masefako.

The undeniable production quality can be attributed to the album being produced by Bett Media, a company that has produced projects for artists such as Jabu Hlongwane, Pastor Lungi Ndala, Rising Sun Choir, Solly Mahlangu and Benjamin Dube.
Besides singing Masefako is passionate about fashion and she’s currently studying the art of fashion at The Villioti Fashion Institute in Johannesburg.
The Genesis is available for streaming on all digital platforms.
