Free State rapper and songwriter, Pule Chauke well-known for his stage name Sliq says music requires consistency as patience is virtue.
“In order for you to thrive in the music industry you should have patience because it takes a long time to be seen in the music industry and this goes hand-in-hand with adjusting to what society envy from you as the artist as they need a lengthy time to digest your music,” says Sliq.
The multi-talented star was born in June, 3, 1990 at Katleho Hospital in Virginia and went to Boitekong Primary School and Phahamisanang Primary School then matriculated at Marematlou Secondary School.
The young South African musician making waves in the music industry hail from Mandela Park zone 14 in the dusty streets of Meloding, Virginia.
Fast forward to a prime of his career, Sliq runs a small record label called SLIQ Records that comprises of 12 young artists.
He is also involved in charity work, where they donate essentials such as sanitary towels and school shoes.
“So basically I always receive the calls and texts from people from the township, and will be asking for electricity and food vouchers”.
Even in the events of ANC, like when they do charity works I help where I can,” he says.
He further more added: “My aim is to break the norm like perspective eo batho banang le yona ka Free State hore there is no talent in our Province“.

Mr Chauke believes that as a young person in FS, they should have recreational programs that exhibit the various options for youth to entertain and educate themselves in an atmosphere that does not support their objectives.
Secondly Annual summits are held to teach the youth about businesses and what they can do to help the economy of their cities and country as a whole.
The lack of Activities in Free State, ~Arts & Culture ~Sports~Music & entertainment “In every community lies a brilliant skilled person on a certain thing, either mind or physically.
We have many individuals with talents but lack resources and places where these activities will take place, more especially where there’s free access of information that will motivate them even more,” says Sliq.
“Having workshops for arts and culture that provide accessible information with a bit of practical information should be available in all towns, not just one.
“You will witness incredible things because each community in Free State has its unique inhabitants and varieties of talents.
“Having more funded sports competitions will help more youth stay busy and off the streets; it should not just be soccer or rugby because there are more types of sports in Free State that have individuals doing the most in them but never receiving proper training or accessible information that will lead to them gaining more.
“Government should create database initiatives to track people who have disadvantaged backgrounds and maintain these databases to ensure help reaches the right people employment is our main concern.
With employment sorted , there won’t be a need for public or citizen assistance,” added Sliq.
“The message can I give to all young people in Free State whom look up to me is Firstly EFFORT= PROGRESS In life We are What We expose ourselves to, Your influence comes from your daily habits.
“If we can all try to put a little effort we will see a little change and if we all engage positively We will all attract positively Work towards an image you want to leave for yourself,” Sliq said.
