R1k bail for policewoman and boyfriend arrested for fraud!

The Anti-corruption police team arrested a female constable from Selosesha Public Order Policing along with her boyfriend for fraud in Thaba Nchu today. Both accused out on bail.

According to the Mangaung-Metro acting police spokesperson, sergeant Mahlomola Kareli, the accused constable submitted a false doctor’s note on March 17th. The note was allegedly from a private practice where her boyfriend works as a circumcision agent on school boys.

“The anti-corruption investigation revealed the sick note to be fraudulent. Allegedly it was compiled by her boyfriend who forged the signature of the doctor he is working for,” added Kareli.

The 31-year-old accused and her 47-year-old boyfriend were arrested today and appeared before court.

The Selosesha Magistrate Court awarded R1 000 bail for the couple charged with forgery and uttering. The case was postponed to August 14th.
