South Africans have to embrace themselves as another fuel price hike will be effective as from Wednesday, 2 March.
On Saturday, mineral resources and energy minister Gwede Mantashe said adjustment of fuel prices is based on current local and international factors.
“Concerns regarding the tension between Russia and Ukraine have also affected crude oil prices negatively as the area is a crucial oil and gas infrastructure hub,” Mantashe said in a statement.
The rand strengthened somewhat against the dollar over the past month, which helped to limit the impact of the oil price.
The Central Energy Fund released the latest fuel price.
The fuel prices for March will be adjusted as follows:
Grades 93 and 95 petrol will increase by R1.46 a litre.
The price of petrol (both 93 and 95 ULP & LRP) will increase by R1.46/l, diesel (0.05% sulphur) by R1.44/l, diesel (0.005% sulphur) by R1.48/l, illuminating paraffin (wholesale) by R1.21/l, and the maximum LPGas retail price by 70 cents/kg.
