Andries Mojanaga, a well-known young entrepreneur with can-do attitude and his passion for helping travelers with organising their vacation trips has steered the 31-year-old to his true career path.
Currently running a charity organization, Ncedani Youth Organization and a travelling agency called Mojanga Empire Travels has .
Mojanga (31) grew up in the dusty streets of Thabong, Welkom. He is from a family of four that consisted of himself, the parents and his younger sister.
During his upbringing life was not difficult for Andries, because his family owned a tuck shop and taxis.
In 2011, he went to Johannesburg to further his studies at Ipelegeng Youth Leadership Program Development (IYLPD), where he was studying Call Center Agency, Marketing and Telemarketing Sales Promotions, and he was also conferred with a national diploma in Office Administration.
It was in 2013 when things took a different turn as Andries’ parents decided to divorce. The young entrepreneur claims that before his parents went through a divorce, he was unaware of what it meant.
“Growing up in Welkom is not easy, but sometimes it is easy, because it is a small town with big opportunities,” said Mojanga.
While facing his parents’ divorce, the young guru found himself evicted from the place he stayed at in Pimville, Soweto.
Mojanga then proceeded to go to Kliptown, also in Soweto, in pursuit for greener pastures. This was where Andries met Bob Nameng, owner of an art center named Soweto Kliptown Youth (Sky).
Nameng gave Andries and his friend a place to stay until he finished school.
“What I liked about that place was that it had daily art activities,” Andries says.
As a travel guru, Mojanga has visited three provinces namely, Gauteng, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and North West province. He has also been to Lesotho and Mozambique.
The travel enthusiast said TKD Tours traveling agency was what inspired him to open his own agency. He further stated that he used to help TKD Tours owner with his clients touring Soweto.
Mojanga says one of the challenges he faces as an entrepreneur is the insufficient numbers in people who travel.
“…sometimes I travel with less than 5 people and it actually costs way more,” says Andries.
The message he conveyed for Free State youth looking up to him is “Always look for something when you wake up in the morning to keep your life going, and learn to work hard for yourself. No one will come to your rescue. Grab every opportunity and reach those goals.”
