The Parkweg police are looking for information regarding a robbery that occurred at a clothing store at Waterfront Mall on Monday, 04 April.
According to the 27-year-old security guard at the store, they were about to close at around 19:00 when an unknown armed African male confronted her. The suspect then signalled for more suspects to enter the store.
Mangaung-Metro police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Thabo Covane said the gang stormed into the store after receiving the signal. They then broke display cabinets, taking cellphones, various brands perfumes and jewellery.
“Suspects spoke Nguni language (Zulu) and wore masks and gloves,” added Covane.
After the robbery, suspects fled the scene and some are believed to have boarded a silver Volkwagen Polo that parked on Henry Street-First Avenue corner.
None of the staff members sustained injuries.
A case of business robbery was filled at Parkweg Police Station.
“We hereby request anyone who might have information to help the investigation to contact Sergeant Molelekeng Tsoeu on 0658206299. Alternatively, people may submit information on MySAPS app or the SAPS Crime Stop number, 0860010111,” concluded Covane.
